JA! was born out of Joe and Anne, 2 friends who have one simple common belief: when life gives you lemons, make a good drink and have some fun in good company. Nothing you can't get on with after that!
But Hong Kong is not without its challenges when you simply want to drink what you love in a fuss-free relaxing environment. In a city known for its high rental and operational costs, drinking a good cocktail becomes a luxury affair with a price tag, and over the years an exclusive cocktail culture is born with professional craft bars popping up over the city; we’re proud to say that even some are claiming Asia's Best 50.
While we are discerning drinkers who appreciate the craft and the reputation our local bartenders have created for Hong Kong, we ourselves and our audience can be everyday casual drinkers at home, during dinners, at non-craft cocktail bars and even beginners to cocktails.
At JA!, we strive to promote accessibility and inclusivity of cocktails to anyone who would appreciate and enjoy a good cocktail, essentially expanding this ecosystem with more drinking options to consumers as well as opportunities to local F&B businesses.
Teaming up with one of the most well-respected Mixologist in Hong Kong, Lok Gurung, who has extensive experience in the industry opening and running bars and restaurants. He is recognizable for the timeless simple elegance shown in his technique and knowledge in classic cocktails, infused with unique creativity with foods and spirits. His variety of concepts can be widely found in venues such as Limewood and Mott32, where he was the pioneering team for the opening of the F&B group and subsequently Group Mixologist. HIs recent gigs include consulting for Cafe Grey at the Upper House and leading Tiffany’s New York Bar which is known for its annual whiskey festival in Hong Kong. Lok was also one of the early Diageo Reserve World Class Finalists for Hong Kong in 2013.
Our drink philosophy
Our products are honed to perfection with our passion and knowledge in the history and craft of spirits and cocktails. JA! believes in using a balance of the finest all-natural ingredients with the right methodology adapted from the professional bar to create the optimal cocktail that is both enjoyable and sustainable.
No stagnant ABV, meaning each cocktail is customized and has a different alcohol content
Only premium spirits are used
All cocktails are naturally sweetened, combined with our own syrups and infusions and contains no artificial coloring or preservatives
The Founders
Joe and Anne have been partners and friends in the creative industry for almost a decade in Hong Kong. While Joe works as a Creative Director with expertise in consumer experiences and design, Anne leads business, technology and production. The duo is deep into their craft and quality of their products, and their cocktails are no exception.
